Arrest made in August armed robbery

COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was arrested Monday in connection with the Aug. 13 armed robbery of Loop Liquor & Food Mart, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

Joseph Lee Anderson, 31, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. and was charged with armed criminal action and robbery in the first degree. His bond was set at $100,000.

The robbery occurred on Aug. 13 at the liquor store at 26 Business Loop 70 E. Officers responded to the robbery at 11:30 p.m. the same night. No one was injured during the robbery and an undisclosed amount of money was taken, according to previous Missourian reporting.

Anderson was identified by store video footage, according to the release. He was already in custody in the Boone County Jail on a separate stealing-related charge.
