COLUMBIA — Despite three comebacks and two walk-off opportunities, Rock Bridge High School couldn't hold off Jefferson City and lost 8-7 in nine innings.

The Bruins fall to 0-2 this season after losing their first game Monday against Fatima High School.

Jefferson City opened the scoring with a two-run third inning. Rock Bridge answered in the bottom half when junior Helen Trice hit a two-run double, tying the game.

Down 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Rock Bridge senior Maddy Cole hit an RBI double, tying the game again and sending it into extra innings.

Jefferson City took the lead in the top of the eighth, but Rock Bridge rallied to score three runs to tie the game in the bottom of the inning.

Jefferson City scored another run in the ninth, and Rock Bridge was unable to match in the bottom half.

The team's next game is Thursday at Ozark High School.
