COLUMBIA — Former Missouri volleyball star Molly Kreklow was selected to USA Volleyball's World Championship Team, USA Volleyball announced Friday.

Kreklow will compete in the Federation Internationale de Volleyball World Championships in Italy from Sept. 23 to Oct. 12.

Kreklow graduated in December and went on to train with the USA National Team in Anaheim, Calif. She spent the remainder of the summer with Team USA, helping the Americans claim a silver medal at the NORCECA World Championships in Panama City.

This won't be Kreklow's first time in Italy. The setter visited the country in high school while playing on the USA Youth National Team in 2008.

"I'm just really excited to be a part of this group," Kreklow said in a text message. "It's been a great summer in Anaheim and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this team."

In her senior year at Missouri, Kreklow earned the title of Southeastern Conference Player of the Year as well as the Collegiate Sportswoman of the Year award after leading the Tigers to a historic undefeated regular season and the school's first SEC championship.

In July, Kreklow was nominated for 2014 NCAA Woman of the Year. The winner will be announced in September.
