DENTON, Texas — The Missouri volleyball team recovered from an upset Saturday afternoon, going on to share a three-way tie for the title at the North Texas Invitational.

Northwestern State defeated No. 15 Missouri 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, ending a 35-game regular season winning streak for the Tigers.

Missouri went on to face North Texas in the final, winning the last match in five sets. The game scores were 17-25, 25-17, 31-29, 18-25, 15-12.

“I am proud of how our kids responded, not only to losing this afternoon but responding to getting beat pretty good in sets one and four,” coach Wayne Kreklow said. “We showed a lot of poise down the stretch and a lot of mental toughness. To pull away the way we did in the wild third set was huge and we did a great job finishing tonight. It was a great team effort.”

The Tigers share the UNT Invite title with North Texas and Northwestern State.
