Frances Joy Semon, life-long farmer, dies at 84

Frances Joy Semon, 84, of Columbia died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014.

Ms. Semon was born Jan. 23, 1930 in Columbia to Gustav Julius and Esther Johanna Koch Schotte.

Ms. Semon was a life-long Boone County farmer and, she loved driving her tractor. She also loved to cook, especially the Saturday dinners her family traditionally shared. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with her loved ones.

Ms. Semon is survived by two daughters, Lorelei Crane and husband A.D. and Lauretta Enochs, both of Columbia; grandchildren Stacy Mahan and Shawna Crane, both of Columbia, and Betsy Enochs of Fulton.; and great-grandchildren Lane and Cole.

Her parents died earlier.
