COLUMBIA — The Fr. Tolton Regional Catholic High School softball team improved to 4-2 Thursday night after posting a 9-4 win against the Sturgeon Bulldogs.

Tolton started the game strong, racing out to a 7-0 lead after three innings. They added two more runs in the sixth inning, after which Sturgeon finally broke through to get on the board and make it 9-1. The Bulldogs scored three more runs in the seventh and final inning of the game, but it was not enough to overturn the Trailblazers.

Kelsey Bequette was the winning pitcher for Tolton. Haley Canaday recorded two doubles, Katherine Kadlec added one double and Courtney Blount recorded three hits.

Tolton is back in action on Saturday for the Owensville Tournament.
