The Wild Things’ Jared Howton pitched six innings and struck out five to earn his seventh win of the season. Anthony Kozol pitched the ninth to finish the three-hit shutout and pick up his 13th save.

Mavericks’ shortstop Cooper Vittitow was 1-for-3 with a double, but also committed an error in the eighth allowing Wild Things’ second baseman Blake Woods to reach base. Woods eventually scored the second run.

The Mavericks’ Grant Dorn pitched a complete game, giving up five hits and striking out seven. The loss brings Dorn’s record to 5-5.

Tonight the Mavericks head to Richmond to take on the Roosters. The game starts at 6:35.
