The 1-year-old child of a young couple killed on eastbound Interstate 70 on Wednesday is in good condition, a University Hospital official said Thursday. The hospital is not allowed to release information on the future custody of the child.

“My guess would be that family from Idaho is coming,” said Boone County Fire District Assistant Chief Ken Hines.

Seth Owen, 25, and Jessica Owen, 22, of Rexburg, Idaho, were killed when a 2001 Ford truck, driven by Anderson Williams, 53, of Florissant, lost control, crossed the median and struck their 1995 Chrysler. Their 1-year-old son, Seth, was taken to University Hospital. The couple was pronounced dead on the scene at 1 p.m.

Williams was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and was listed in fair condition Thursday afternoon. His son, Joseph Williams, 18, was flown by helicopter to the hospital, and remained in serious condition on Thursday.
