Mavericks win first series

The Mid-Missouri Mavericks beat the Windy City Thunderbolts 16-4 on Monday night in Crestwood, Ill. to win their first series of the season.

The Mavericks (10-40) came from behind to beat Windy City 5-4 on Sunday after losing to the Thunderbolts 10-5 on Saturday.

In Monday’s win, Mid-Missouri scored one run in the third inning, had seven runs in the fourth and eight in the sixth.

Mavericks’ pitcher Danny Schuck (1-1) was the winner striking out eight and giving up two runs on six hits in five innings.
