Ballers perfect champs

The Columbia Ballers won the boys’ 12-and-under basketball division last weekend at the Show-Me State Games.

The Ballers, who went 7-0, defeated the St. Louis Bulls 40-30 in the final.

The Ballers are: Howard Houston, Tre Millard, Justin Miller, Ricky Kreklow, Skylar Hinton, Tanner Ott, Marcus Whitt, Blake Buchert, Arthur Johnson, Zach Kurzejeski and Rhys McCracken.

Earl Salmons is the coach, and Charles Neville is the assistant coach.

GOLF: D.J. Chung of Hickman High finished in a seven-way tie for 62nd, missing the cut by a stroke at the Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic in Ardmore, Okla.

Chung finished at 155, shooting a 75 on Monday and an 80 on Tuesday.

BIG 12 CONFERENCE: Football games will remain on Fox Sports Networks through the 2011 season after the league and the network agreed to a four-year contract extension.

Fox Sports Net also will televise 40 other Big 12 events, aside from football and men’s basketball, including the women’s basketball tournament and seven other conference championships through the end of the 2011-12 academic year.
