The Atkins Holman Student Commons at Columbia College will be dedicated at 11 a.m. Saturday.

The building opened at the start of the school year and is meant to be a convenient gathering place for students.

The $4.2 million commons is between Dorsey and Missouri halls and houses student health services, a study lounge, the campus bookstore, meeting rooms, a recreation room, a coffee shop, snack bar and campus life offices.

Tom and Linda Atkins of Columbia donated the lead gift. The building is named in honor of their parents.
