Board of Curators honors 4 professors

The University of Missouri Board of Curators awarded four MU professors an annual award of $10,000 for as long as they hold their appointed positions.

Peter Markie, professor of philosophy, was named a distinguished teaching professor.

Jere Francis, KPMG distinguished research professor, Bina Gupta, professor of philosophy, and Steven C. Hofmann, Luther M. Defoe professor of mathematics, were named curators professors.

The board approved the appointments at its September meeting in Mount Vernon.
