Jen Bruck made the first two starts of her collegiate softball career on Friday. Both were impressive and led to wins for the Missouri softball team (2-0).

Bruck, a freshman, allowed one hit and one walk in four innings in the Tigers’ first game, a 6-0 defeat of Nicholls State. Later in the afternoon she yielded five hits and a run in four innings to No. 10 Florida State. The Tigers came back to win that game in the bottom of the ninth, 3-2.

Sophomore Erica Peterson spelled Bruck in relief for both games, earning the win against Florida State after throwing five innings of one-run ball.

Missouri resumes play in the Seminole Classic in Tallahassee, Fla., today against these same two teams. The Tigers play Nicholls State at noon and Florida State at 2 p.m.
