Buehrig earns defensive honor

Missouri goalkeeper Laura Buehrig earned her first Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week award on Tuesday.

Buehrig, a sophomore earned her second straight shutout in the Tigers’ 2-0 victory against Indiana on Friday in the Big 12/Big Ten Challenge. She followed that up on Sunday with eight saves Missouri’s 2-1 win against Purdue.

The eight saves were one short of her career high. Buehrig is ranked first in the Big 12 in total saves with 22.
