Hickman defenders limited visiting Blue Springs to eight offensive points and stifled the Wildcats' last-second comeback effort to preserve a 19-16 victory. Nick Timberlake's 19-yard field goal with 1:04 left in regulation broke a 16-16 deadlock, and proved to be the game-winner for the Kewpies (3-1) when defensive back Robert Heath intercepted Wildcat quarterback Nick Caldrone in the end zone with seven seconds left on the clock. The bright spot for an offense plagued by penalties was running back Ricky James, who rushed for 155 yards and a score, and helped set up the game-winning field goal.
