A Columbia woman arrested on suspicion of stabbing a man in the chest has been released from the Boone County Jail.

Charity Nadine McBride, 35, of 702 Demaret Drive, was arrested early Monday at University Hospital on suspicion of first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Police were dispatched to the hospital after the victim, a 38-year-old Columbia man, arrived there by private vehicle about 4:30 a.m. The stabbing occurred in the 1000 block of North Garth Avenue.

McBride was released on $50,000 bond about 12 hours after she was booked into the Boone County Jail.

Police contacted Wednesday would not provide any specifics about the crime.
