Kewpies finish seventh in KC tournament

Columbia Hickman beat Hickman Mills of Kansas City 57-53 in overtime to finish seventh at the Lee Summit Tournament.

Hickman Mills trailed 14-17 at the half and tied the game 41-41 to close out regulation, but couldn’t clinch the win.

The Kewpies broke a four game losing streak and are 9-11 for the season. Hickman Mills is 7-9 for the season.

Hickman was 16 for 18 from the line in overtime. Taylor Florence scored 26 points for the Kewpies, sinking 16 of 19 free throws and nine of 10 in overtime.
