Man hit by car, released from hospital

A Columbia man was hit by a car Friday afternoon and taken to University Hospital for injuries to his head and knee, according to the Columbia Police Department.

Tim Hoag, 28, was walking north across Bernadette Drive near Knipp Street when he was hit by a black SUV going east. The driver of the Hyundai Santa Fe, 26-year-old Jennifer Wingert, was not hurt. The accident happened shortly after 5 p.m.

Hoag was treated and released Saturday.
