The city has tapped a new coordinator for the annual Mayor’s Challenge: Bike, Walk, & Wheel Week.

Janet Godon, who has a bachelor’s degree from MU in recreation and

parks administration, has accepted the post.

Her past experience includes positions at The North Face Co. and at the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association, according to a city news release.

Godon replaces Judy Knudson, who had the position for five years. Godon will coordinate scheduling, fundraising and communications for the event.

She’ll be paid $3,000 and will begin work Tuesday. Her pay comes from a $5,000 donation to the city for the event.

Bike, Walk & Wheel Week is May 12-19.
