Kewpies cruise in first round

The Hickman girls basketball team defeated Cor Jesu Academy 60-30 in the first round of the Ameritime High School Girls Basketball Invitational.

The tournament is being held at Maloney Arena, which is on the campus of Maryville University in St. Louis.

With the win, the Kewpies improved to 18-1 on the season.

Junior Yvonne Anderson finished with a game-high 26 points. Senior Lauren Nolke contributed 16 points.

The Kewpies will play the winner of the St. Joseph’s-Lutheran South game at 8:30 tonight in the second round of the tournament.
