Two women were robbed at gunpoint by a pair of men in west Columbia late Saturday night, Columbia police said.

The women called police during the robbery at around 11 p.m. They said the men had forced their way into their home, brandished a gun and demanded money from them, according to a news release from police.

The men escaped with the women’s property as officers were arriving. The women said they heard the men fire a shot as they were leaving. Neither woman was injured.

Columbia police, Boone County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol searched the area but couldn’t find the men, the news release said.

The robbery took place in the 1500 block of Timber Creek Drive.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477. Callers may remain anonymous and are eligible for a $1,500 reward if the information leads to an arrest.
