An Iowa man was seriously injured Saturday when his truck overturned several times on Interstate 70 in Columbia.

Art Kestermont, 43, of Milford, Iowa, was driving west on I-70 in his 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck at 3:25 p.m. when he tried to pass a tractor-trailer on the shoulder about 1.5 miles east of the St. Charles Road exit.

Kestermont lost control of the truck, drove onto the grass and overturned several times. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to University Hospital by ambulance. The hospital said on Sunday that Kestermont was in fair condition.
