The National Weather Service of St. Louis has issued an excessive heat warning. The warning is in effect from 1 p.m. today until 7 p.m. Friday. The Columbia/Boone County Health Department has prepared eight cooling stations that are available for use during the time periods in which a heat advisory has been issued. The stations are open during the regular business hours of the establishments they occupy. Air conditioning and water will be available to everyone. For those who do not have transportation, Columbia Transit bus lines are also available.
