COLUMBIA — A county prostitution bust netted the arrest of a woman Thursday at a business in the Midway Travel Plaza on Highway 40 West.

Xue Lan Bian, 52, of China was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of third-degree promoting prostitution, according to a news release. Boone County Sheriff’s deputies had been conducting a “prostitution-related investigation” into A.M. Chinese Relaxation Treatment, located in the Midway Travel Plaza at 6401 Highway 40 West, according to the release.

Bian was being held at the Boone County Jail on $4,500 bond Thursday night.

The business was operated in and around a motel and convenience store in the strip mall.

Sheriff’s deputies said the owners and managers of Midway Travel Plaza were not aware of any illegal activity at the business.
