Volunteers, Salvation Army serve Thanksgiving dinner

More than 60 volunteers helped serve food at the Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving dinner at Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken on Paris Road. For years the dinner had been hosted at Everett’s Restaurant and Lounge on Range Line Street, but after it closed the owners of Lee’s volunteered to play hosts.
The Salvation Army expected between 600 to 900 people to show up for the Thanksgiving dinner, which consisted of turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, rolls and an assortment of pies. The Salvation Army had a shuttle running from the Salvation Army Harbor House to the dinner and also had a home delivery service for those who weren’t able to travel.
