Julia Sumpter's Profile

After living in the Pacific Northwest, Southern California, the Deep South, and a brief stint in Eastern Germany, Julia now resides in Missouri and calls Kansas City home.

Currently an anthropology and photojournalism student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Julia hopes to use her experience in relocation and travel to her advantage to pursue an international science journalism career.

Out of the newsroom, Julia rows for the University’s rowing team as a varsity port stroke seat and devotes all other free time to being a Sporting Kansas City superfan.

During spring '13, she will be reporting on the community beat.
