Laurien Rose's Profile
Laur•i•en – /lôr•ē•ĕn/ like the DeLorean, but without the “duh.”
Born and raised on the south coast of Massachusetts, Laurien is an aspiring investigative reporter. She wants to focus on topics linking public corruption to popular culture.
Laurien is working toward a print/digital-focused Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in watchdog reporting and a double minor in anthropology and religious studies.
One of her goals is to empower citizens to make their voices heard and help them make informed political decisions.
Although her high school did not have a newspaper, Laurien wrote for MU's student newspaper, The Maneater, her freshman year of college and served as crime editor during her sophomore year.
Laurien is also a Bowie fanatic, a horror movie expert and a lover of mediterranean food. When she isn't working or writing, she can probably be found at the bowling alley, wandering downtown with her miniature aussiedoodle or making dreamcatchers.
During the summer of 2013, Laurien was a general assignments reporter for the Columbia Missourian. In the spring of 2014, she returned as an enterprise reporter, focusing on cannabis-related news in mid-Missouri.
