Originally from West Des Moines, Iowa, Abbie Wenthe grew up reading the Des Moines Register and fell in love with writing. The idea of being able to inspire the community just by telling another’s story is incredibly powerful and she hopes to inspire the Columbia area by reporting the stories of the people as a reporter on the community beat for Spring 2013.

As a magazine writing and nutrition student at the University of Missouri, Abbie hopes to combine these interests and eventually write for a health and fitness magazine.
