Who I am:
Hi there! My name is Cassa. I am a Public Safety and Health reporter for the Missourian. I am majoring in magazine journalism and minoring in business at the University of Missouri. I enjoy the rush of breaking news journalism, but I am most passionate about investigative and feature stories. I love when I am able to spend time really digging into a story and thoroughly researching it.

Why I chose journalism:
All throughout my childhood, my parents read books to me. Although I have long since outgrown that stage of my life, it instilled in me a love of words and the power of storytelling. I took my first journalism class in eighth grade and have been consistently studying and practicing journalism since then.

What I do outside the newsroom:
As a Colorado native, I have a strong love for the mountains. I enjoy biking (although I can't always make it up hills on my bike), hiking and skiing. I have a Canon camera I lug around and bother my friends with since I love documenting everything.
