Kevin Cook's Profile

I'm currently a graduate photojournalism student at the University of Missouri. I graduated from Temple University with my undergraduate degrees in Film & Media Arts and Journalism in 2010. I'm a proud, native Philadelphian.

I love being able to use photography as a tool to meet and understand people. My "subjects" are so much more than that. But wonderful people who have shared their lives with me. I hope to give everyone a voice and give everyone a way to see and understand the world around them.

My work has been published in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Chronicle of Higher Education, Inside Lacrosse Magazine, ESPN Rise and several local publications in the Philadelphia Area. I've been fortunate enough to have been recognized in the College Photographer of the Year competition, NPPA student Quarterly Clip Competition, Photo Philanthropy and the Pennsylvania Press Association. I was named one of the top Photojournalists under 25 by the Boston Globe. I hope to continue to work on long-term projects in my own backyard and use my images as a way to create dialogue and elicit change.
