Marty Swant's Profile

Marty Swant, a junior at MU, lived in the Minneapolis area until migrating to Missouri for college. Since then, he's written for the MU student newspaper and also a group of five weekly newspapers in the Twin Cities region. This summer Marty reported for the Missourian's Public Life and Elections beats before heading overseas for an internship with Thomson Reuters at the news agency's bureau in Brussels. Marty enjoys playing acoustic guitar and singing, going on mission trips, reading, running and playing pond hockey during the frigid Minnesota winters. His most recent endeavor is learning to cook, but is still unsure how successful he'll be at that hobby.
