Marcie Veit's Profile
I have been a copy editor/teaching assistant on the Columbia Missourian's print desk since fall of 2014. As a print lead copy editor teaching assistant, I am in charge of the print production of the Missourian, from creating the print budget to supervising designers to make sure we meet the midnight deadline every night.
Previously, I was a front page designer on the print desk in fall of 2014. As a front page designer, I had to design the front and jump pages quickly and effectively with late stories under deadline.
I was also a copy editor at the interactive copy editing desk in spring of 2014. I was in charge of editing articles, posting photos, creating social media posts, proofing pages for print publication, managing the online homepage and much more.
I worked as a reporter covering the community beat for the Missourian in fall of 2013. I found characters in the community to write long-form narrative pieces about in order to capture the people in Columbia.
Originally from Florissant, Missouri, I am pursuing a degree in News Editing within the Missouri School of Journalism. My expected graduation date is May 16, 2015.
I have also worked as a writing tutor at the University of Missouri Writing Center since August 2012 and continue to work as a writing tutor through my graduation in spring of 2015.
