2014 APSE award-winner for column writing and feature story.

WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO MISSOURI? After four-plus years covering college basketball for a daily newspaper in Virginia, I came to Missouri to learn more about digital media and editing. I spend most of my days in the cozy Missourian office.

WHAT’S YOUR BACKGROUND? I slowly progressed my way down the East Coast before making this Midwest Swing. I grew up outside Boston, attended the University of Maryland for undergrad and then began my first job out of college in Harrisonburg, Va. I developed an appreciation for sports writing, and journalism in general, by reading Sports Illustrated, The New York Times and The Best American Sports Writing book series. Now, there's so much good journalism online that I often can't find the time to read everything in my Pocket.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE WORK? If I've got the day off, you can probably find me at MizzouRec playing pick-up basketball. Scouting report: Good mid-range jump shot, dogged and smart defender, right-hand dominant dribbler.
