Michael Sewall's Profile
Michael is a 21-year-old senior from Western Springs, Ill., about 20 minutes outside Chicago. He came to MU to study print and digital journalism, and is also getting minors in creative writing and sociology.
Last summer, Michael reported on higher education for the Missourian and now reports on the health beat. He has served as an assistant city editor on the enterprise and education beats since May 2009. He has held multiple positions at MU's student newspaper, The Maneater, including managing editor. He has also worked for UWIRE.com. At Lyons Township High School, he led a team of broadcast reporters to announce sporting events for the school's radio station, WLTL/88.1 FM, and TV station, LTTV/Channel 99.
Michael is the oldest child in a family of six. Other family members include his father, Dan; his mother, Joan; brothers Alex, 19, and Mark, 16; and his sister, Katherine, 13.
Michael is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching movies, as well as writing and reading non-fiction.
