Rachel Heaton's Profile
Rachel was born in Oklahoma City, but calls Columbia, Mo. home since she's lived here for eight years in the city. She is a senior print and digital news major and is minoring in French and political science.
Previously, Rachel has reported for the elections/public life beat at the Missourian. She spent a semester as an intern at MSN UK in London, where she wrote for the Money section. Rachel spent June 2009 in Doha, Qatar and Cairo, Egypt, where she took part in the Middle East Journalism Bootcamp run by American University in Cairo and Qatar University. Her work from the bootcamp was recently published online on The Huffington Post.
Aside from reporting, Rachel enjoys traveling, interior design and a day well-spent with a good book and a cup of tea. She is also the servant to an ever-curious cat, Maddie. She hopes to attend graduate school in England next fall.
