Sarah Horn's Profile

Sarah is a senior at MU originally from Carol Stream, Ill., a western suburb of Chicago. She came to Columbia to study print and digital news, and (surprisingly) hasn't changed her mind yet.
Sarah's first internship was in 2009 at Chicagoland Gardening Magazine, where she learned that a small staff really can produce a great product. She reported for the K-12 education beat at the Missourian last fall, then jetted off to Brussels, and spent four months working as an intern at The Bulletin, Europe's oldest English language magazine. She certainly doesn't miss eating mystery meat for lunch at "the canteen" or going online to translate the soup of the day, but the international newsroom experience was priceless.
After making it safely back to the U.S. and getting over some serious jet lag, Sarah began work as a reporting intern at the Daily Herald, Illinois' third largest newspaper and suburban Chicago's largest print news source. She's finally found her way back at the Missourian and hopes to make the best of her senior year before she moves to Hawaii sometime after graduation.
Sarah's first and greatest love affair will always be with food. Mexican, Chinese, American, Italian, you name it. If only she wasn't so picky, she'd be the best darned food critic around.
