Zach Murdock's Profile

Born and raised in Kansas City, Zach Murdock is a May 2013 graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism.

During his final school year, he served as an assistant city editor at the Columbia Missourian. He also spent two semesters covering MU and the UM System for the education team.

He's the creative genius behind the Twitter account, @zach_murdock, and frequently blogs about his experiences as a journalist in the changing media landscape at zachmurdock.com.

He's previously worked all over the country. He spent the summer of 2012 in Ellsworth, Maine, as an intern for the community newspaper, The Ellsworth American. In the summer of 2011, he worked as a video operations intern for his hometown Major League Soccer team, Sporting Kansas City. In the summer of 2010, he interned as a reporter and editor at the Park Record in Park City, Utah.

This summer, Zach is a reporting intern at The Kansas City Star, after which he hopes to go on to a long career serving a community he loves — just as he did in Columbia.
