Erik T. Mikhitarian
After spending Thanksgiving inside a hospital instead of at home with food and family, the Mikhitarian family said they decided they want their Christmas to be a little more quiet.
The family welcomed a new addition the day before Thanksgiving: Erik T. Mikhitarian. Erik was born at 7:47 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Boone Hospital Center, to Kaidi and Mark Mikhitarian. He weighed 9 pounds at birth.
“I’ve certainly never had a Thanksgiving like that before,” Mark said. “Now we’ve decided just to stay at home for Christmas.”
Now a few weeks since Erik’s birth, Mark said his new son is shaping up to be a content baby.
Erik has one older sibling, a two-year-old brother, Jakob.
While most young children that age are consumed with thoughts of Christmas gifts right now, Mark said Jakob cares more about his new brother.
“It was a little interesting at first, but now he’s coming around and they’re getting along nicely,” Mark said. “He’s very curious about things like why the baby cries and why he eats all the time ... there are just lots of questions.”
