Devin Jay Brown couldn’t wait to make his entrance into the world.
Born at 8:10 a.m. Jan. 19 at Boone Hospital Center, the baby boy arrived 10 days earlier than scheduled. He was welcomed by his parents, Stacey and Jason Brown.
Stacey said it is exciting to start the New Year off with the newborn, who weighed 9 pounds, 9 ounces at birth.
“But I wish it was a little bit warmer so we can get out,” she said.
Devin isn’t the only young one in the house. Stacey and Jason also have a 2-year-old son, Jaden. He’s still not entirely sure how he feels about the new addition to the house, though, Stacey said.
“He likes to put him to sleep so that Mommy and Daddy aren’t holding him,” she said.
Already having a child at home actually made Devin’s arrival a lot easier, Stacey said, because everything was already set up and ready for the newcomer.
“We didn’t have to do as much this time,” she said. “We already had everything from the first baby.”
Both Jaden and Devin’s schedules are similar, which makes things easier, Stacey said. Overall, she looks forward to spending as much time with her newborn as possible.
“He sleeps a lot,” she said. “I wish he was awake more so he can interact more with us.”
