Nobel Peace Laureate to give public talk at MU

    Nobel Peace Laureate Betty Williams will give a public talk and will be speaking on Community-Based Solutions to Violence and her experience with mobilizing a community response to the violence in Northern Ireland during "The Troubles." The public talk kicks off a two-day youth conference known as PeaceJam on the William Woods University campus in Fulton. The conference will bring together youth from across the Heartland region (Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and parts of Iowa) to report on community service projects, attend workshops and learn from Williams.
