12 Pack Porkers discuss their barbecue techniques

The path from bowling team to barbecuing team was easy for the 12 Pack Porkers. "We all remembered the days when we used to bowl a couple nights a weeks so we just started saying 'Why don't we take all our old bowling trophies and put pigs on top of 'em and say we won these cooking pork?'" team member Jim Littig joked. Comprised of a dizzying mix of friends, family and coworkers who have known each other for more than 25 years, the barbecue team hails from Jacksonville, Ill., and loves the camaraderie of barbecue as much as the good grub.
The team is one of 54 that competed at the Roots 'N Blues 'N BBQ Festival this weekend.
