Domestic violence incidents are reported when a police officer believes there has been abuse in the form of: harassment, stalking, coercion, assault, sexual assault, battery or unlawful imprisonment.
The domestic violence rate in Boone County has continually been higher than the rate in the rest of Missouri. The majority of domestic violence cases in Boone County occur between two people who live together but are not married.
