Electronic medical records help physicians order tests, prescriptions

A survey by the National Center for Health Statistics in 2008 found that about one in five office-based physicians use electronic medical records to perform tasks such as ordering tests and prescriptions, viewing laboratory or imaging results, or completing clinical notes.
