October 27, 2007 | 12:00 a.m. CDTThe third annual Chef’s Chili Challenge to benefit the Central Missouri Food Bank was held Thursday evening at the Fieldhouse, 1107 E. Broadway, and was hosted by the Columbia Jaycees. People from local restaurants and the mid-Missouri area gathered to cook chili while attendees sampled recipes and listened to live music by the Dustin-Crider Duo. Steve Henderson, a 54-year-old Columbia resident, won the People’s Choice Award for the top-ranked chili voted on by those in attendance. He received $500 and donated half of his winnings to the Downtown Optimist Club.
