Michael Mossine has a passion for dance

Michael Mossine, 11, started dancing when he was diagnosed with Type 1* diabetes at age 6. His mom, Olga Mossine, signed him up for classes at Dancearts of Columbia because Michael’s doctor said impact exercises could help him control his blood sugar.

Michael grew to love it. “I like dancing because of the fun, not only for my blood sugar,” he said. Now, he takes classes in tap, jazz and ballet three times a week at the school. He is preparing for a recital at end May.
