Hurricane Katrina survivor recalls moving after disaster

Christy Carson, a Hurricane Katrina survivor, recollects her displacement from her New Orleans home to Columbia — a journey that took more than a year. After the natural disaster, Carson relocated to Arkansas for eight months before traveling to Columbia. Since then, she has landed a job with State Farm Insurance and is saving up to buy a house.
