DIAGRAM: How a Trombe wall helps heat a home
September 26, 2010 | 6:56 p.m. CDTUsing convection, a Trombe wall uses the sun to help heat a home. A window at the top of the wall can be opened to allow heat inside the building. Slits at the bottom allow the cooler air to escape and recirculate. During warmer weather, window shades can be used to block the sun’s rays.
