Toby Coslet, 10, watches Darren Laupp cut wood with a velocipede scroll saw at the Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival on Saturday. Laupp, who was at the festival with the Midwest Woodworkers Association, said the saw is a reproduction of one that would have been used in 1886. "Today we're letting kids swing a hammer and use some glue," Laupp said about helping kids make small wood crafts. "We try to make sure our fingers are out of the way when they use the hammer."
