Missouri Sen. Kit Bond spoke at a press conference Monday

Bond announced that $1.5 million of federal money had been secured for the Highway 740 Extension project in East Columbia, a fraction of the anticipated $133 million cost of the project. "This provides us the foundation to get a start on this," Bond said. "I intend to be around to drive on that road."
