Columbia Police vs. Boone County Sheriff: Taser use

October 27, 2010 | 6:57 p.m. CDT
Taser use is broken into three categories: deployments, laser light displays and arc displays. A deployment is when an officer shoots an individual with a Taser or shocks him or her with a hand-held unit. Laser light displays occur when officers point the Taser at an individual, showing a laser light where he or she would be shot if the Taser were deployed. An arc display is defined as an officer showing the electric arc the Taser generates when activated.
